It will soon be our turn to host the WYXC race 4, which will take place on Sunday 4th December 2016 at Cliffe Castle.
We have previously hosted Race 3 for the last 2 years and each year has been a great success and improved year on year and hence we want to ensure the same again this year.
A slight change this year is that we have been selected to host Race 4, which will also involve the prize giving and awards, whilst due to other race clashes it is being held on a Sunday (previous years were on a Saturday).
The critical thing to make the day a success is to a have a whole team collective involvement as we had in previous years.
We have a pretty well planned formula for the day and in all essence it isn’t too difficult to organise as WYXC do all the difficult bits like the race organisation and the race timings.
We have slightly re-configured the course from last year which will make the event run more smoothly.

As mentioned the event is relatively straightforward to organise, we just need lots of enthusiastic and willing volunteers most notably to marshal on the day and also to help set up the course in the morning of the race.
We typically start at 8.00am on Sunday morning to ensure all is ready and in place well before the first race start at 11.45am
Attached is the planning template we have used in previous years and also features the roles and tasks we need to carry out.
Identified names who have helped in previous years we hope we can call on again and as mentioned we need lots of volunteers to marshal.
Another area where we need parent support is making pack lunches for the 20 WYXC officials.
As in previous years we’d be looking for 10 willing parents to volunteer to make 2 pack lunches each, to include, sandwiches, crisps, fruit etc.

All the tasks and roles are really very simple, so don’t feel daunted by volunteering.
