Wollaton Park in Nottingham hosted the 2017 National XC Championships and part of the scenery was Wollaton Hall which was used as Wayne Manor for the filming of the 2011 Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises” !

The day itself stayed dry (other than for Scott & John in the Seniors race at the end of the day !), however, Storm Doris had already hit the previous day so there were some water and mud features around the course that the juniors had to endure. It was a case of tie those laces as tight as possible and hope for the best – unfortunately Sam Conroy had to finish the race with just one of his spikes as the mud got the better of his other one!

Once again our juniors were all fantastic in some huge (most were 400+) and competitive fields, with majority all in the younger end so good experience for next year when they will be at the top of their age groups. Special praise to Lilli Carr who finished a fantastic 18th in the U13 Girls race.

This race concludes the 2017 Older Juniors XC Championships so congratulations to all our winners which can be found in the attached Club Champs table.  So onto the Fell & T&F Champs.
